Faltriqueira + Treixadura
Faltriqueira
The polyphony of the Faltriqueira girls brings youth back to the Galician musical heritage, the “pandereiteiras” (tambourine players) from of the villages, which in many cases remained unknown.
Teresa, Carolina, María and Ana are accompanied by Jorge Juncal’s accordion, the percussions of Roi Adro and the strings of the "Faltriqueiro Maior”, Pascal Gaigne.
Faltriquera has toured through numerous stages inside and outside of Galicia, performing in places like Namibia, Bermuda, San Marino, Portugal, Barcelona, or at home in the World Celtic Festival of Ortigueira. Their voices were also chosen for diverse compilations such as the Women's World Awards, Femmes Celtes and Oriental Garden, and have gained international recognition through journals specialized in “World Music”.
Treixadura
Treixadura is the most unique way to live the melody of the bagpipe and Galician chants. Fifteen great musicians comprise the two sections of the band: Treixadura Gaiteiros (Pipers) and Orfeón Treixadura, who have played alboradas, alalás, muiñeiras, foliadas ...
One of the most representative musicians in Treixadura was Xosé L. Méndez Martís, "Morgan", a founding member of Estalotes and member of “Cantigas and Agarimos”, recently disappeared.
After the album "Unha semaniña enteira", which sold over 7,000 copies, the group prepares the last part of their “quadrilogy” with “Esta si que é muiñada”.
